501 on Etsy

I hadn't checked our favorites in a while over at the etsy shop, but I was re-listing some Valentine's cards there this morning and happened to go and check, and I am delighted to report that as of this morning we have 501 (!) people who have "hearted" us on etsy (see the screenshot above). That's pretty cool, if I do say so myself. If you are one of those 501 favorites, you rock my socks.

If you haven't checked out our etsy shop in a while, head on over for some super-cute Valentine's Day goodness!

Mini Promotional Notecards for In The Now Weddings

Are you getting married in Orange County, California this coming spring, summer or fall? If the answer is yes, you really ought to contact Amanda Auer, the owner and wedding planner behind In the Now Weddings and Events. Amanda contacted me back in August of last year because she was holding a special party to promote her business and wanted some really special and unique favors to hand out to her guests. What Amanda desired was to create a set of letterpress-printed, modern, 3" square, folded notecards with envelopes in sets of 5, with different love-related quotes on them, that guests could take home. I thought it was a really sweet idea! Amanda came up with the quotes and the design and Twin Ravens Press did the letterpress printing! Here are all five, sweet, mini-notes together. Click on the picture to make it larger if you'd like to read the quotes.

I love the modern style of these sweet, little cards and I love how Amanda made them coordinate with the look and branding of her business. Each card measures 3" square, when folded, and was printed with black ink on Crane Lettra Bright White 100% cotton paper. The quotation was featured on the front and the In The Now Weddings logo was featured on the back. Each card came with a coordinating white envelope.

Isn't this an awesome idea for a promotional giveaway?!? I love it! It's way better and more memorable than ordering something generic as a promotional item, like magnets or pens. Here are a few more images so you can see the cards closer.

So cool! Working with Amanda was a real pleasure and I imagine hiring her to coordinate a wedding or event would be equally rewarding. I hope she and I get to work together again in the future!

If you are interested in having a custom promotional card or other letterpress printed favor created for your business, wedding or upcoming event, please contact us. We'd love to talk to you about your ideas!

Thank you so much Amanda! Keep up the great work!

Twin Ravens Press Holiday Cards Now Available!

Happy November everybody! I hope everyone out there had a very Happy Halloween weekend! Now that the holiday season is on its way, I thought I take a moment to show off some of the Twin Ravens Press holiday cards that are available now or are going to be available over the next few days in our etsy shop! All of these cards are available as singles or come in sets of six or 12 cards. I'm going to be adding a few more designs to this collection in the next couple of weeks and will let you know more about those very soon! All of the designs in this post are either general holiday or Christmas-related, but we are also going to be adding a few Hanukkah designs in the coming weeks as well. We will also have holiday coasters and small gift cards available in late November, so keep an eye out for those too!

The following designs are available now for those who want to get an early start! If you don't see them in our etsy shop, keep an eye out over the next few days and they will be up shortly. If you just can't wait to get your hands on them, though, you can always e-mail me, and I would be glad to set up a special listing just for you! If you are a retailer and would like to carry any of our holiday designs in your store, please e-mail me and I would be glad to send you a .pdf of our wholesale catalog!

The image at the top of this post is of our Holiday VW Bug card. It is a 4bar size (measuring 3.5"x4.875") and comes with coordinating red envelopes.

This is Poinsettia Mouse. It is also a 4bar size and comes with coordinating red envelopes.

Below is an image of our Crane String card in red, copper and green. You'll notice that this design is available all year round and also comes in other color combinations. I think this design makes a lovely holiday card though as well! It is an A2 size, measuring 4.25"x5.5" and comes with red envelopes.

The design you see above is one of our oldest greeting card designs. Holiday Cardinals is an A2 size card, now printed on Crane Lettra 100% cotton ecru paper in red and black inks and comes with matching red envelopes.

This cute Holiday Cat with Lights card is sure to brighten anyone's holiday! The A2 card features a mischievous orange kitty and a long strand of tangled, green christmas lights that reach around from the front to the back of the card. It comes with coordinating green envelopes!

Here is another oldie-but-goodie! Our Holiday Hedgehogs card features four ink colors, and coordinating pool blue envelopes. These cards are 4bar size.

The two cards above are our Peace Dove card and our "Let it Snow!" holiday card. They are both 4bar size and come with coordinating pale blue envelopes.

As I mentioned above, all of these designs will be available in our Etsy Shop over the next few days. If you can't wait for a design to show up in the shop, please feel free to e-mail me and I would be happy to set up a special listing just for you! More designs will be available in the coming weeks as well, so keep your eyes out! Happy (early) Holidays!

Robot with Heart Coasters Featured on Etsy!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I must apologize. I have been a bad blogger. You haven't seen or heard anything new on this blog in almost two whole weeks! Tragic, I know... It's not that I haven't been up to stuff, believe me, it's still been rather busy. I don't even have any decent excuses for the lack of blogging this time, but anyway, I'm back, and I've got all kinds of neat stuff to show you, starting with this:

I got a lovely e-mail yesterday from Emily of Sparrownestknits on Etsy about a treasury she created featuring our brand-new robot with heart coasters. The coasters feature our same robot from the classic card design I've been doing for a while now, but in coaster form. If you haven't seen them yet, check them out here. Also, be sure to check out the treasury link above to see Emily's other awesome robot picks and the link to her shop where she sells some gorgeous knitted scarves, hats and other items! Thanks so much Emily! You rock!

Etsy Treasury Feature: String of Crane Cards

I checked my inbox this morning to find that one of my greeting card designs is being featured in an Etsy Treasury today for The Killian Mansfield Foundation. My letterpress printed "String of Cranes" card is the left most item in the third row.  Click on the link if you want to check it out for yourself.

Killian is a 16-year-old boy in upstate New York who is suffering from a rare form of cancer. Killian's favorite story is the Japanese tale of Sadako and her 1,000 paper cranes. If you haven't ever heard of the story, you should read more about it here. Killian is also apparently a very talented Ukulele player and you can purchase a CD of his music from the treasury by clicking on the link at the top. All of the proceeds from sales of the CD benefit his foundation.  Go check it out!

Happy Belated Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and long Valentine's Day and President's weekend this past weekend.  I've been meaning to do a little blog post for a while now to show off all of our new love-themed cards for Valentine's and this spring, but we've been so busy with custom work lately that this blog has been sadly neglected for over a week.  If you've been watching our Etsy shop, you've probably already seen these designs, but in case you haven't here they are below!  With the exception of the Valentine Checklist card, I feel that all of these designs would be a wonderful way to tell the people you care about and are thinking about that you love them throughout the year!  And really, who doesn't love getting a sweet "I love you and I'm thinking of you." message at random?  Just because it's not Valentine's Day anymore, doesn't mean you shouldn't tell 'em you love 'em.

Our first new love-inspired design is an A2 size card that we're calling "Love Letters".  Inspired by vintage valentine's and wedding postage stamps this letterpress card features the letters L-O-V-E inside of a light pink rectangle with little grey finches perched on and flying towards them.  You can see the full card at the top of this post and there are a few detail images below.

Check out how awesome the embossed white letters look in the above detail photo!  They are really fun and tactile and beautiful to see and touch!  Each of these cards comes with a corresponding A2 envelope in light pink and they are available for purchase as singles here.

For our next new love-inspired card, we decided to try out a brand new card size.  The size is a monarch size, which measures 7.25" x 3.75".  I've done a few save-the-date cards for weddings and a few programs that were this size in the past, and I liked the size so much that I thought I'd try it out for a greeting card.  Check it out below:

Each of these cards features an adorable baby elephant running across the front with a trail of little pink heart-shaped bubbles trailing behind him.  The bubbles continue across the front of the card and a few even float around to the backside.  It features a very simple message: "Love you.", letterpress printed on the front and it is blank on the inside for your own personal message.  Want one of your own?  You can find it here.

Our totally Valentine's specific design for this year was a cute and somewhat humorous checklist card.  The card is a 5.5" square size that is folded and has a lovely brown, leafy vine pattern stretching around the list on the front.  The list was printed in brown also with little pink checkboxes that you can fill in yourself depending on who you plan to send it to.  It's really the perfect card for all of the Valentines on your list!  Here is a photo:

We still have a few of these cards available in our etsy store, so if you'd like to stock up for next year, you can find them here.

And, last but not least, is an adorable card design for the dog-lover in all of us!  My family and I had black labrador retrievers growing up and they were such wonderful family pets - and so sweet and loyal - that I decided to make a love card featuring them.  The card design is fairly simple - there is a black lab on the front with a light pink heart in his mouth.  See below:

You can find the black lab cards here.  Do you love this design, but would rather have a chocolate or yellow lab?  We have those too!

You can find the yellow labs here and the chocolate labs here.

I'm going to try to get back into a regular schedule of posting here soon, and I have lots and lots of new custom stuff to share with you!  So if you're especially interested in custom wedding invitations stay tuned, more of those will be up very soon!

100 on Etsy

This month sure seems to be the month of Twin Ravens Press milestones on Etsy.  I was out in the shop printing just now and came in to my office for a second to see if I had any e-mail, and low and behold, found out that today I made my 100th card sale in my etsy shop.  Check it out:

I sometimes feel just a little nerdy about all these little milestones, but I feel excited about announcing them to you anyway.  I promise to post more photos of awesome printing soon!  Have a great day!
